Alternative TV on the Internet

While DVR has made TV worthwhile, it is still limited by schedules. I basically only have access to about a 3 month time span.  Imagine that in the 100-odd years of video production, I can only watch 3 months! That is like .25% of the schedule!

The internet makes on-demand viable. I want access to it all–especially the obscure, no budget documentary or a tasteless artist flick. YouTube is certainly a viable option, though it seems to be cluttered with one-off clips of pets and teens. Enter Miro. Miro is a replacement for Windows Media Player that also offers thousands of “channels”.

Some of the channels are sexy, smart, a little geeky and all worth watching with my girlfriend:

  • inTreatment (HBO)
  • AOTS: In Your Pants View Show Page Attack of the Show Host, Olivia Munn, sits down with gal pal and sex columnist Anna David to answer your sexy questions.
  • What Would Happen if? (National Geographic)
  • Hidden Universe HD: NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope
  • MixMaxTv - A video summary show of “yummy” stuff from the internet.
  • HBO Films
  • Adult Swim
  • Independent Comedy Network
  • The Digg Real
